Dreamworld

More theme parks!

Here are some photos from our time at Dreamworld. It is probably my second favourite theme park. There are heaps of hugely scary rides here, and they now have WhiteWater World just next door which is obviously a water park. You can buy a combined ticket to get into both parks but we honestly didn't see how you could do both in the one day. Besides, although the weather was nice it really wasn't warm enough to play in the unheated water.

We also went for a walk through the Big Brother House which they must open to the public throughout the year when they are not filming. It's quite small, and it actually seemed quite old and shabby which is not how it looks on tv. You also walk through the stage where Gretel hosts from before you get to the house, and the house is quite a walk away from there and down a lot of steep hills. You could also see where they hold the Friday Night Challenges. I didn't take any photos of the BB house I'm afraid, as it just didn't seem that exciting. We didn't get to see the Diary Room (which is what I wanted to see and was hoping you could take photos there) as there was a huge queue to get in there and have your photo taken by staff and we just couldn't be bothered.

Ash went on a ride first up - The Giant Drop. If you have seen the Tower of Terror before, it is on the same huge pole as that, only you go up there slowly, sit at the top for a few minutes, before plunging back down without any warning. Not for me, lol!

I took Ethan on a ride that I can't remember the name of, but you sit in a little round boat like thing and ride the rapid water. That was fun and we both got splashed a bit.

We went around to Wiggle World and from memory the only ride there was the Big Red Car ride. We lined up to go on but the line was moving very very slowly and it only took about 1 family at a time and there were quite a few lined up so we ended up getting out of the queue and hit the Wiggles Shop instead, lol. Captain Feathersword's pirate ship was there though and the kids could run around on that so Dan quite enjoyed that.

The new Mick Douhan ride, Ash said was crap. He lined up for nearly an hour and apparently it went for about 5 seconds and it was barely scary at all - it was a rollercoaster.

We spent a bit of time at the Nickelodeon Central which is mainly for the younger kids. They had a slime show too but we steered clear of that, lol.

Overall it was a good day and we all had fun. Another long day again but that was to be expected. The kids seemed to do quite well considering they were having to walk all day long. Even Angus managed to get some sleep in the pram for a while.

Will add photos later as I'm getting an error again and I'm off to do school pick up now...
